If I had to pick a Flower of the Year for 2017's weddings, it probably wouldn't be a flower at all. Eucalyptus foliage was the standout favourite, and Kate & Brendan's Walsh Bay wedding proved that gum isn't just for rustic country celebrations.

Guest tables were decorated with large pillar candles surrounded by lush eucalyptus and the bridal party table runner was also a eucalyptus-only affair that featured three different types of gum.

Eucalyptus also featured in the bouquets alongside a mix of native and classic garden flowers like Eucalyptus, bud wax, wax flower, thryptomene, blushing bride, roses, peonies stock, snapdragons and astilbe.
